Who Dat

By way of intro, I’m Aubrie Pagano. Most recently, I built and sold my cult-favorite apparel and gifting brand, Bow & Drape. (Worn by celebs, adored by all including every dog in Boca Raton.) Along with my best friend, I grew the brand online and into over 350 Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s and Hudson’s Bay stores. I got into investing through XFactor Ventures, an early stage fund of female operators backing startups with at least one female founder. Early days, I backed companies like maude, Shiru, Pod Foods, Foodology, and Ceremonia. Then in 2020 I joined Alpaca VC full-time as a General Partner and have invested in next-gen commerce companies like Pack Digital, Mayple, and Inveterate. I live in Brooklyn, NY with my house plants, and fully embrace the folklore grandma aesthetic.

Y Interesting

I recently heard on a The Cut podcast Esther Perel ask the question, “if you weren’t doing what you do for a living, what would you do?” as an antidote to Americans solely defining themselves by how they make money. As such, I will submit that if I weren’t a VC, I would be writing, crocheting, and making more fashion artworks. So my perspective as a commerce VC with a talent and sharpness for understanding the female consumer is what you will find here.
