Who Dat

By way of intro, I’m Aubrie Pagano. Most recently, I built and sold my cult-favorite womenswear customization company, Bow & Drape (worn by celebs and adorned by every dog in Boca Raton.) Along with my best friend, I grew the business DTC and in over 350 Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s and Hudson’s Bay (rip) stores. I also began my love/hate relationship with supply chains, manufacturing, and how you move physical things using technology. I got into investing through XFactor Ventures, backing companies like maude, Foodology, and Ceremonia. In 2020 I joined Alpaca VC full-time as a General Partner and have invested in companies like Tapstitch, Intramotev, Mayple, Daze, Hopscotch, and Applied Atomics. I live in Brooklyn, NY, am an introverted-extrovert with over 30 houseplants, and fully embrace the folklore grandma aesthetic.

Y Interesting

I recently heard on a The Cut podcast Esther Perel ask the question, “if you weren’t doing what you do for a living, what would you do?” as an antidote to Americans solely defining themselves by how they make money. My job in VC allows me to do what I love: write, research, talk to smart people, observe culture, and shop (for companies) for a living. So my perspective as a VC with a talent and sharpness for understanding the consumer and commerce landscape is what you will find here.
